The cot has two positions for setting the bottom. For babies from 0 to 6 months (up to 9 kg), the mattress is placed high enough so that mom can easily reach the baby. When the baby learns to sit up independently, the bottom of the crib should be lowered to the bottom position.
The mesh fabric of the sides provides the necessary ventilation and also allows you to watch your baby when they are inside. The height of the sides is high enough to prevent the baby from falling out and not allow them to get out on their own (provided that the mattress is fixed in the lower position).
